My working day is always off to a great start if it involves a breakfast meeting. I feel organised, motivated and ready for action! One of my favourite hidden gems in Sydney to have a breakfast is The Wedge in Glebe. Their Hibiscus and Rose Bud ice tea (pictured above) is perfect to sip on during those balmy summer mornings. But of course, this is not a food blog, so it's best that I move on to the fashion side of things. Today I'm featuring a 'What's in my bag' special...a selection of some of my favourite items that I can not live without!
The Accessories...
The Bag - If you’re anything like me when it comes to your
new acquistions, you seem to mimic an over-excited child who’s parents bought
them a new toy and they just can’t wait to tear the wrapping to shreds before
they even get home! Well this was my reaction at Harrod’s London last year when I purchased this divine Vivienne Westwood Boston bag. The bag
patiently waited in its emerald green Harrod’s packaging all the way back to
Sydney (almost a month later) where I quickly began conjuring up outfit inspiration
for my first day back at the office. Since it's maiden voyage, it has become my staple handbag! I love the shape, size colour and convenience of being able to fit all the essentials! On many days I find myself trying to base my outfit around the bag...it's love <3
The sunglasses - These Karl Lagerfeld sunglasses are a mandatory accessory for every lunch break. I love the dark tint and the octagon shaped frames.
The iPad - Regardless of the growing shift towards going 'paperless' in the workplace, I have been using the trusty iPad for all my business note-taking needs. I have always been a 'list writing' pen to paper sort of girl, but the iPad has definitely changed all of this for me. I am a converted Mac addict.
The Beauty Notes...
The compact - Chanel 'Poudre Universelle Compacte'. This natural pressed powder is in tow for every trip to the powder room.
The lip balm - Another great Chanel beauty product that I swear by. This 'hydramax and nutrition lip care' is one of my ultimate beauty purchases. I use it not only as a lip balm, but also as a base before applying any lipstick. I can not get enough of the dreamy soft texture...I have to restrain myself from applying this 20+ times a day.
The lashes - A tried and tested favourite. This YSL mascara is perfect for the workplace. It's not about the 'lash extension' or the 'voluminous' effects, it's a plain and simple, black classic mascara.
The mirror - I do understand that many woman carry compact mirrors in their handbags. However the reason I chose to include this as a part of the beauty notes, was merely because of the beautiful story behind it. If you have ever had the pleasure to visit Paris, you would know that taking a walk down the left bank, lined with small stalls selling beautiful vintage posters, old records and of course, small trinkets and souvenirs. If you've ever taken note, the stalls are typically owned by old Parisian men who stand there smoking with little care for how much they sell throughout the duration of the day. This is not a job for them, it's a way of life. I am a great talker and love receiving first-hand travel tips and therefore it is only natural that I should befriend one of these little French men. After striking up conversation with the gentleman, I had not even realised that almost twenty minutes had passed and we had spoken about a variety of different topics, from the economic state of Europe to the gossip that Mary-Kate Olsen was dating the former French President's brother (a topic which he naturally knew very little about). It was as if time had frozen...one of those movie scene moments. After writing me a list of the best kept secrets of Paris site seeing, Pierre insisted on gifting me this pocket-sized mirror. And so...the mirror has travelled with me everyday, all day, ever since that day! Ohhhhhhhh the French really do have 'a way'!
The fragrance - miniature perfumes always have a place in my handbag. At the moment I'm working my way through the Marc Jacobs Daisy miniatures. I have another four Daisy variety scents to get through.

So many goodies! Those Karl Lagerfeld glasses are amazing!
